RIUMAR LIVE MUSIC NIGHTS
Do you like good music, the sea breeze and the stars? One of the activities on Deltebre’s cultural agenda are the live music nights in Riumar. You can enjoy some incredible live music nights during the summer: jazz, blues, soul, classic rock-and-roll and even an opera night. This takes place at plaça Europa in Riumar, which is next to the sea and offers a very relaxed atmosphere.
NATIONAL DAY OF CATALONIA
Every year during September, Deltebre celebrates a wide variety of activities on the occasion of the National Day of Catalonia: music, sports, jota dance meetings, exhibitions, etc. On 10th September at night it takes place the institutional act followed by a concert that is the starting of the activities that will be celebrated during those days.
SANT GEORGE’S DAY
This event is one of the most important cultural celebrations in Catalonia. In honour of the Day of the Book and the Rose, Deltebre organises several events and activities related with the literature and music.
RICE FESTIVALS
The Rice Festivals are the perfect occasion to get into one of the main traditions in Deltebre: the traditional rice process in the Ebro Delta. In these festivals we represent the cultivation of rice according to traditional methods. There are two festivals: the Rice Planting Festival (in June) and the Rice Harvest Festival (in September). Get ready to go into the rice fields and experience the unique feeling of walking into the mud. And after, let the party get started: jota dance, popular meal, theatre, traditional games…
PHOTO CONTEST TERRES DE L’EBRE
Annually, Deltebre and l’Ametlla de Mar organise the Photo Contest Terres de l’Ebre. Everyone can participate in this contest, even if you are a professional photographer or amateur. It is one of the most important competitions of Terres de l’Ebre and it shows the wealth and variety of our landscapes, and at the same time it is committed to the talent of photographers. There are awards for the best photos.
JOTA DANCE MEETING
Each year after summer, Deltebre celebrates the Trobada de Grups de Ball de Jota, a meeting point for traditional jota dancers. It is an encounter full of music and movement. The jota, that can either be singed or danced, is one of the most emblematic elements of the folk music in Deltebre.
THE PASSION OF CHRIST
Many of Deltebre’s traditional festivities are related to religion. At Easter, the Passion of Christ is represented in the streets with more than a hundred actors and live music.
